The American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) is an internationally recognized organization that provides training and sets standards for professional climbing Guides in the United States. AMGA certification is the industry standard recognized by the US Government, and places a guide in a select group. Certified Top-Rope Site Managers must complete a 40 hour course, followed by a demanding eight hour exam. Those who pass this exam have shown themselves to be proficient, safe, and knowledgeable instructors on single-pitch terrain.
