Self Rescue Seminar

Note: this is a two day course

Climbers of all ability levels should know how to get themselves and their climbing partners out of a jam. This seminar will teach you how to deal with problems that could arise while climbing. Knowing how to solve these problems could save a life. Clients will learn and practice escaping the belay, raising with mechanical advantage, leader rescue, lowering and rappelling with an injured partner, and passing knots through a belay / rappel device. These skills depend on knowing specialized knots and friction hitches, which are covered as well. The first day of the seminar teaches the basic skills, while the second day focuses on putting them together with mock scenarios. Clients leave this course with the increased confidence and peace of mind that come from being prepared for the worst.

Experience required  Proficiency with topics covered in Lead Climbing course
