The 400 foot towers of the Smith Rock Group provide an amazing centerpiece for Smith Rock State Park, and this formation contains numerous classics. These multi-pitch routes range from the beautiful “Sky Ridge” (5.8), to the more recent classics such as “Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose” (5.11c). Our most popular route to guide is White Satin, a true adventure climb. Starting up an enjoyable chimney, the climb transforms into clean corners and airy traverses, including a memorable move over space as you lie-back and straddle a large flake. The third pitch is a perfect 5.9 stemming corner, ending in an exposed traverse to the summit, with the whole park stretched out below your feet.
