American Mountain Guides Association

The American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) is an internationally recognized organization that provides training and sets standards for professional climbing Guides in the United States.  AMGA certification is the industry standard recognized by the US Government, and places a guide in a select group.  Certified Rock Instructors must pass the ten day Rock Instructor Course, followed by a demanding six day exam.  Those who receive certification have proven the ability to instruct and guide clients on a wide variety of terrain.  Achieving AMGA certification requires years of climbing and guiding experience.
